We decided to make good use of all that cookie dough we bought from a fundraiser and amade a cookie cake tonight! The kids wanted to decorate so we divided it into thirds and let each of them decorate a piece. It was very yummy and we all had lots of fun! The cookie didn't last long but the memories made will last a lifetime!
So today was the first of many I'm sure! We had to manage 2 birthday parties that were going on at the same time! A little girl in Bradley's class was having her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and a little girl in Taylor's class was having her birthday party at the Icearium in Knoxville! We couldn't not let Bradley go to his party because it was his 1st school party and he was soooo excited! Taylor has been going to parties and things for a couple of years now and when it's for school friends we don't let the other 2 kids go because I don't think it's fair, it is Taylor's friend after all. So when Bradley brought home the invitation he was overjoyed! He was going to go to a party and Taylor couldn't go! Now Taylor had missed the first party that someone in her class had this year so there was no way she was going to let us live it down if she had to miss this one! So Bradley's party started at 3 so I went with him to it and Taylor's started at 4 so Scott (who doesn't do parties!) went with her. It was a very hectic day but we made it through! Here are a few pictures of Bradley at Chuck E. Cheese but I didn't manage to get any of Taylor since I wasn't there! Happy Birthday Trinity and Haven!
Our love for reading makes the book fair a favorite for us! I worked helping set up and then worked a couple of other days as well so I had the chance to get a few Christmas presents out of the way! Bridgett went in with me when I was working and she kept Amanda busy the whole time! I wish I had gotten a picture of it because she was sitting in the rocker reading book after book to her! She also made another new friend when another mom who was working had her little girl who was about Bridgett's age with her.
All 3 of the kids loved picking out new books and seeing Clifford! Here are a few pictures that I did manage to take!
Bradley's class with Clifford We had to get Mrs. Hatcher in there!
Bridgett, Bradley and Clifford
And one of the days I was working Clifford decided he needed a nap and dozed off on us!
Bradley had his first big project for school to do this weekend! Next week they will be learning about Community Helpers (ie. police officers, firemen, doctors, etc.) so Mrs. Hatcher sent home a cut out of a person for them to decorate as what they want to be when they grow up. Most of the kids made doctors or policemen or even singers or something like that, not Bradley! He has always been the type to do his own thing and never goes with the crowd (which I encourage to the fullest!) so he wanted to be a superhero which he named B Man! We went to Walmart and picked out some things to turn this dull white paper into a superhero and this is what we got! I thought it looked pretty darn good if I do say so myself!
He was so proud!
The only concern he had was he wasn't sure that Mrs. Hatcher would know what a superhero was! I assured him that she would because lets be real what can be closer to a superhero than a mom or teacher and she just happens to be both!
We have only 1 fundraiser each year so we kinda make a big deal about it! The kids raise money for walking laps and it's called Rocket Romp (we are the Eaton Rockets!). Today we had our kickoff event complete with a hot air balloon and everthing! Here are a few pictures of the day.
The balloon going up!
We are sending the teachers who are in the balloon up up and away!
Here are 5 of our 8 kindergarten teachers all dressed for wacky day!
We had spirit week at Eaton this week and boy did we have fun! Wednesday was favorite team day and it caused quite the commotion at our house! Bradley came home from school on Tuesday telling me that we had to go shopping for some "Tennessee Orange" because "Mrs. Hatcher said tomorrow is Tennessee Orange Day." Well for those of you who don't know this already we are NOT Tennessee fans around here! GASP! I'm sure I just lost a few readers there! Yes we are traitors around the Moore household! Scott has been a Penn State fan since he was a kid and that's who we all root for! We don't root against the Vols (unless they happen to be playing Penn State) but we just aren't wearing any orange around here either! So anyway for those of you who didn't click the little X in the upper right hand corner as soon as you read that I will go on with my story! This is how the conversation went after Bradley told me that...Me: "No, honey tomorrow is favorite team day. If Tennessee is your favorite team then you wear Tennessee orange but if you like another team then you can wear that team." Bradley: "But Mrs. Hatcher said it is Tennessee orange day." (And we all know at this age you think parents and teachers are NEVER wrong!) Me: "Well Mrs. Hatcher likes Tennessee best so for her it is Tennessee orange day but we like Penn State so you can wear Penn State tomorrow." Bradley: "NO that is not what Mrs. Hatcher said! Now we need to go buy me some Tennessee orange." Me: "Go ask your Daddy!" The next thing I hear is Daddy "What are they teaching my child at this school!" We ended up not dressing up for favorite team day!
Thursday was pajama day so we had to take a trip to Walmart to get some new jammies. Not because my kids normally sleep in a t-shirt and their undies or anything cause I would NEVER let them do that! Nope, not me! Bridgett wanted to get new jammies since the other kids were so she even wore jammies all day Thursday! Somehow this is the only picture I managed to take on pajama day. This is Bradley with Chelsea and Brandon at lunch. Friday was the best of them all! It was Wacky day and we had LOTS of fun with it! Bradley had been waiting for this one all week and it has always been Taylor's favorite! When we got up that morning we were running late and I didn't have time to get dressed so I dropped them off and came back home to get ready. The kids had been asking me to dress up wacky since I was going to be at the school all day but I was a little reluctant until I went through the line to drop them off and saw that Laura was dressed up! So I came home and got dressed and off I went! We had an awesome day!
I am married to a wonderful man who works very hard so that I have the joy and privilege of being a stay at home wife and mom. We have been blessed with 3 amazing kids who I enjoy watching grow and learn everyday! Taylor is almost 8 and just started 2nd grade, Bradley is 5 and begining a new adventure in Kindergarten and Bridgett is 3 and staying home with Mommy right now! I am so thankful for the many blessings in my life! I love God and desire nothing more than to serve him and bring honor and glory to Him everyday.
